Because of their exposure to the elements, chimneys are very prone to the effects of weathering so it is a good idea to have them repointed so that no further erosion of the brickwork takes place.

Chimney Repointing Prices:
Chimney stacks come in many different sizes and so it is difficult to give a one size fits all price but in general to re-point a chimney stack expect to pay between 200-250 pounds and if the pargeting at the top needs re-doing then this will add another 100 pounds to the cost. If some bricks need replacing then these will cost 10 pounds per brick.
